Joy!!

My heart is filled with joy as I write this post…for several reasons…but before I get into that I must say a bit on the side about my faith.

I’m sure you’ve heard before about how faith is this or the other…but really I feel that faith has a direct relation to the joys you experience at some point in your life, here’s why I say this…

I’m feeling an exuberance of joy right now because I just completed the first year of my Master’s program and now I can partayyyy (well not really, just kidding) 🙂 there is still much work to be done for the 2 years ahead. But the truth is, I would not be at this point experiencing this joy if I did not have the faith to start the process that brought me here in the first place, and despite the obstacles and challenges that I’ve experienced in the past year I pressed on…so yea faith brought me here.

I had  moments of absolute joy and fulfillment over the past weekend when I had the opportunity to go home for a brief visit to see my son for mother’s day. Not in all my wildest dreams did I imagine I would get to see him for mother’s day, but again…by faith I did and not only did I go home, but it didn’t cost me a penny…so yea..faith did that too…C360_2015-05-10-20-58-01-482

Do you see where I’m going with this?

Then finally, today I’m experiencing a different kind of joy…a joy that’s associated with the pride of being a Guyanese and of playing a part in the change that has come to our country…a new day has come to Guyana. A joy that all Guyanese is experiencing because they voted in faith that their vote would bring change.

So today I smile, for many reasons as I bask in all this joy…and also because It’s pretty sunny out and I enjoy the sunshine on my face and also because more than ever I am reminded that faith works…and it’s the key to the joy that I seek… 🙂
