August Love

I love August, mostly because it’s my birth month and some of my dearest friends were also born in August…

But I also love August because of the sense of freedom that comes with it…days are longer, everyone moves slower…and the overwhelming need to just relax and have fun prevails.

Now, August has even more meaning for me and more reasons for me to love it. The end of the month will mark exactly one year since I entered these shores to pursue my studies (and it’s been quite the journey so far); it also has new meaning for me as it marks the end of the longest period of time in the past year that I got to spend with my love Eric.

I also accomplished a lot this August; I got my US driver’s license (finally), I completed the first of many amazing internships and I made awesome connections both in my professional and personal life that has impacted my life tremendously.

August has just started and I have so much to be thankful for and I’ve certainly had a lot of fun so far in this care free laid back month as I continue to move to the beat of my own drum…

So as I countdown to my 32nd birthday (yeah I know… you thought I was 22…lol), I do so not with fear of ageing, but with gratitude and excitement for what is to come; because with age comes wisdom and timeless beauty. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this month I love…cheers to August!
