Summer Fling….

I have a love affair with Summer….undeniably, it is my favorite of all seasons here because it is the closest to what it’s like to be home in Guyana.

I wish like “Kes the Band” sang it could be an endless summer; but this  sadly, is not my reality as I trudge from class to class and eye with disdain the mounting reading assignments after only two weeks of school…. sigh! 
This is the reason I am here so everything else is secondary, but I’m grateful I embarked on the shameless fling I had with the season of summer.

I screamed like a baby on Coney Island rides with my love Eric while he did it with much chill, I conquered fears…with a little help of countless gulps of wine..lol, danced like no one was watching, ate some of the best foods, met some of the most amazing people, stole a few kisses 🙂 and spent many hours at the beach just listening to the waves and marveling at the wonder and beauty of the earth. I lived slowly, and most of all had lots of fun!!

The weather has started changing and this “Guyanese Girl” is dreading the return of bundling up and wearing my famous “evil scarf” that sheds on everything I wear but is the warmest scarf I own. I’m happy though, that I spent Labour Day weekend exactly as I did….embracing mother nature and spending time with people that mean a lot to me because it was the last official weekend of summer…so farewell summer…this fling we had has ended until next season…Ciao!
